It Isn’t a Bird, It’s Me in a Bird Suit

The title is inspired by the poem The Language of the Birds by Richard Silken. Painted in acrylic on a galley-style 4" x 4" canvas, the colorful bird is posed profile with lines that are alive with nervous energy both inherited from & giving life to the subject. The dark lines form a top layer with the bold color space seemingly sinking deep into the canvas behind it. This hyper-reality invites the viewer to look deep into the image & explore the different texture regions.
